When they are working properly, castors can significantly increase a product's mobility, such as an office chair or bed. But over time, the castors' tread wears out and causes an uneven ride. It can be very alluring to simply buy a new chair or bed instead of removing and replacing the castor. Continue reading to learn more about how to replace a typical castor, such as an office chair, a piece of antique furniture, or your bed, that you might encounter around your home or place of business.

Begin by removing the castors from the bottom, enabling you are able to gain clear access. Secure the item by holding it with one hand while with the other, pull the castor that you want to remove.

step 2

While in most cases the castor will simply pop out, occasionally it may be more difficult. In these cases insert a flat headed screw driver between the castor and the chair leg. Using the screwdriver pry the castor until it pops out.

step 3

Tente's castors can be installed within seconds. Once again hold onto the item with one hand while using the other to push the circlip into the base. When sufficient force is applied a click will sound and the castor will be secured into place.

step 4

Ensure the castors are fit properly before use, to do this simply lift the item off the floor to ensure the castors are securely locked into place.
